Set in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, the CTICC officially opened on Saturday 28 June 2003 with an evening of world-class entertainment which culminated in a unique collaboration between violin star Vanessa Mae and top South African diva Sibongile Khumalo.

President Thabo Mbeki was the guest of honour among almost 7000 people who flocked to the CTICC to witness the opening ceremony which marks an important milestone in Cape Town's quest to become an international destination of choice for meetings market.
The Cape Town International Convention Centre offers a purpose built, flexible facility with 10 000m² of dedicated exhibition space, two raked fixed seating auditoria for 1500 and 600 delegates, a grand 2 000m² ballroom with magnificent city views and over 33 break-out rooms.
